I also thing removing random encounters in the overworld would help a lot. The wait time in ship battles is the worst, but pretty much every action in the game, from getting on ladders to actions in battle, has this awkwardly long delay. My biggest problem with the game is how slow everything is. I think a remaster would greatly benefit the game because there are a lot of things that didn't age well, but it's a good game underneath all of that. I know that many guys want HD remaster or sequel, but unfortunately it depends on SEGA and I'm not working for SoA related games. Interestingly, though, he is working on "something" related to Skies of 's just not a game. Kenji Hiruta - considered to be one of the "main devs" on the original release - took the anniversary as an opportunity to inform fans that it depends on Sega (not himself) if they want an "HD remaster or sequel" as he's no longer working on "SoA related" games. It was followed up by the GameCube version Skies of Arcadia Legends in 2002. Believe it or not, but it's now been 20 years since Sega's JRPG Skies of Arcadia was released on the Dreamcast.
